How do I set it up?
Same as the cover — place it, plug the cord into the ground port of a wall outlet, rest bare skin on it. Done. (Thin cotton socks work too — see below.)
Can I wear socks or shoes on it?
Bare skin gives the strongest connection. It still works through thin cotton socks — just weaker than direct contact. Shoes, thick socks, and synthetics block it.
Does it work through clothes?
Through a thin cotton layer, yes — weaker than bare skin. The best habit is direct contact: bare feet, palms, or forearms.
How do I know it's actually working?
Touch the test pen to the surface while the mat is plugged in — it lights up when the mat is grounded. You can check any time, on day one or day nine hundred.
Do I need this if I have the mattress cover?
